First up, the 1963 film "The Great Escape" starring Steve McQueen, James Garner, Richard Attenborough, Charles Bronson, and James Coburn. It tells the story of nearly 70 American and British soldiers who escape the Nazi concentration camp they are being held in and their attempt to reach Switzerland. We follow this up with the discussion of a film that quickly became one of Luke's favorites, the 1961 film entitled "One, Two, Three" starring James Cagney, Horst Buchholz, Pamela Tiffin, Arlene Francis, Hanns Lothar, Howard St. John, and Leon Askin. It tells the story of a post World War II Coca Cola executive living in Berlin whose boss' daughter comes to Berlin and ends up marrying an East German communist. Hilarity ensues once word comes that the girls parents are coming to Germany for a visit. Comments[0] |
